Course Details
At OC Dental Academy, our 8-Hour Dental Infection Control course is a California Dental Board Approved course that will fulfill the requirements for an unlicensed dental assistant and requirements for your RDA (Registered Dental Assistant) application. The course will provide students with basic concepts, step-by-step procedures, and the current regulatory aspects related to infection control and office safety. Our Dental Infection Control course consists of 4 hours of online learning and 4 hours of clinical instruction. At the end of our course, you will have your 8-Hour Infection Control Certification. This course is non-refundable.
As of January 21st 2025, the employer of the unlicensed dental assistant is responsible for insuring that they complete an 8 hour infection control course, prior to performing any basic supportive dental procedures involving potential exposure to blood, saliva or other potentially infectious materials.
OC Dental Academy is an approved provider with the California Dental Board to certify students in 8 Hour Infection Control. Course Approval Number #IC155

The following requirements are necessary to enroll in the 8-Hour Infection Control Course offered by OC Dental Academy:
Person must speak English
Student must wear scrubs
Student must have hair pulled back
Student must wear closed toes footwear
